PREDATOR has a built-in weekly Scheduler where you can define your working hours. Out of these hours, even if the USB flash drive is inserted, PREDATOR will trigger "Locked by schedule" events and take the appropriate action, as explained in the Alarm options Reference.

This feature is most useful to control the time a user may spend on the computer, by locking the desktop, closing the session or even shutting down the computer when the limit is reached.

Notice that PREDATOR uses its own internal clock to manage the schedule. It is initialized with the system time when PREDATOR starts. Changing the system time while the software is running won't have any effect upon PREDATOR.

You open the Scheduler window by clicking the "Schedule" item in the PREDATOR's menu :

the Scheduler

The status bar tells if the Scheduler is currently enabled, or not. You can enable/disable it with the corresponding checkbox in the Alarm options window.

By default, the scheduler contains a single rule, which tells that your session may be opened 7 days a week (from Sunday to Saturday) and 24 hours a day (from 00:00 to 23:59).

Rules Reference

This field is checked by default. You may uncheck it if you want to disable a rule temporarily. Use the "Delete" button to remove the rule for good.

From day / To day

The From day / To day fields define the period of consecutive days that the rule will apply to. Week starts on Sunday, so From Sunday to Saturday means the whole week. If the rule applies to a single day, then enter the same day in both fields.

From time / To time

The From time / To time fields define the time range that the rule will apply to. Day starts at 00:00:00 and ends at "23:59:59".
In order to define several time ranges for a given day, create a distinct rule for each time range.

Example #1: how to define morning and evening working hours for working days by creating 2 rules:

From day To day From time To time
Monday Friday 08:00:00 12:00:00
Monday Friday 14:00:00 18:00:00

Example #2: how to enable a user account for 2 hours in the evening on working days, and 6 hours on week-ends by creating 3 rules:

From day To day From time To time
Monday Friday 18:00:00 20:00:00
Saturday Sunday 10:00:00 12:00:00
Saturday Sunday 14:00:00 18:00:00

Editing the rules

In order to customize your schedule, you'll have to create your own rules and delete the default rule.
It is recommended to disable the Scheduler while you are editing the rules: this will give you the time to review them quietly and prevent unwanted side-effects.

Inserting a new rule

Click the "Insert" button in the toolbar to create an empty rule, then enter appropriate values in its cells, and finally press the Enter key or the "Save" button in the toolbar.

Modifying a rule

Click the cells you wish to modify and change their values. Finally, click the "Save" button to commit your changes.

Deleting a rule

Select the rule by clicking its leftmost cell (the one on the left of the "Enabled" cell), then click the "Delete" button in the toolbar. Finally, click the "Save" button to commit your changes

PREDATOR will apply your schedule as soon as you enable the Scheduler in the Alarm options.
